Types of Filariasis  as per Ayurveda :

1.      VAATAJA “SHLEEPADAMU” (= Filariasis) Symptoms :
It is characterized by, rough skin, swollen and black colouration with severe pain and swelling in the affected area is called “Vaataja shleepadam”

2.      PITHHAJA “SHLEEPADAMU”
It is characterized b yellow coloured smooth swelling fever & chills and soft to touch with tenderness in the affected area.

3.      SHLEMAJA “SHLEEPADAMU”
It is characterized frank acute in Inflamation, neither soft nor very hard to touch and appears like a ripe fruit in the affected area.

4       INCURABLE VARIETY / STAGE/OF FILARIASIS:
i)  More than 1 yr. duration.
ii) Extremely hard,
iii) Swollen with THORNY appearance.
iv) Swollen many times the original size of the organs.

In such cases no amount of treatment will be useful; hence not advisable to initiate treatment.

2. DECOCTION OF INGREDIENTS from No. 23 to 32, and add to above paste, then.
3. Add “Danya Yoosham” (1 PRASTHAM = 640 gms)
4. Add water over curd (1 prastham = 640 gms)
5. Add cow’s Ghee (1 Prastham -= 640 gms)
6. Cook them as per the procedure laid down to prepare “GRUTHAMS” – 
7. It should be preserved in glass jars.

DOSAGE  DURATION

1.      FOR ROCK SALT : Immerse in KALI – Telugu means = ACID WASHINGS OF RAW RICE (144) for 24 hrs. Dry under sunlight.
2.      FOR SOCHALSALT : Immerse for 24 hrs in lime fruit juice and dry under sunlight.
3.      FOR VITSALT :  Immerse in fermented butter milk for 24 hrs.  Dry under sunlight.
4.      FOR KACHALAVANA :  Immerse in TAMARIND LEAVES JUICE FOR 24 HRS.  dry under sun.
5.      HEAT UP FOR DETOXIFYING COMMON SALT FOR THREE JAAMULU = TELUGU = EXACT ENGLISH EQUIVALENT NOT FOUND.
Above ingredients will get detoxified by above described method.

1. Method of Detoxification of ASSAFOETIDA FERULA (67) :
Make in to fine pieces immerse in the juice of NELUMBIUM SPECIOSUM WHITE VARIETY LEAVES and keep it UNDER SUN FOR 12 HRS.  It gets detoxified.  Dry under sunlight.

2. Detoxification of BALASMODENDRON PUBESCENCE (222)
*  After making it into fine pieces immerse in the lime fruit juice for 07 days LATER AFTER.

*  Immerse it in juice of lime, remove juice and immerse in cow’s urine for 07 days it gets detoxified.  Dry under sunlight.
